This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides step-by-step instructions for adding a new employee to Homebase. It outlines the process of creating a new team member profile, entering accurate employee information, assigning the appropriate role, department, and work location, setting permissions, and sending the employee invitation. Following this SOP ensures all new hires are properly onboarded into Homebase, have access to their schedules and company resources, and are prepared for a smooth transition into their new role. It also helps maintain consistency, accuracy, and compliance throughout the onboarding process.
## Step 1
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Add a New Hire in Homebase
Step 1: Log In to Homebase
Open your web browser and go to the Homebase login page.
Enter your email address and password.
Click Log In.

Step 2: Go to the Team Section
From the Homebase dashboard, click Team on the left-hand menu.
Then clock Roster
## Step 3
Step 3: Add a New Team Member
Click the Add Team Member or Invite Team Member button in the upper-right corner.

Step 4: Enter the New Hire's Information
Fill out the required details:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Phone Number (if applicable)
Job Title/Role
Hourly Wage (if required)
Then click Add Team Member
## Step 5
Step 5: Assign the Employee
Select the appropriate Location (if your business has multiple locations).
Assign the correct Role/Position.
Set the employee's permissions (Employee, Manager, Admin, etc.) if applicable.

Step 6: Send the Invitation
Review the information for accuracy.
Click Send Invitation or Invite.
The new hire will receive an email (or text message if enabled) with instructions to create their Homebase account.

Step 7: Verify the Employee Was Added
Return to the Team page.
Confirm that the new employee appears on the team list.
Check that their status shows Invited or Active, depending on whether they have accepted the invitation.

Step 8: Assign a Schedule (Optional)
Go to the Schedule tab.
Add the new employee to upcoming shifts as needed.
Publish the schedule so they can view their assigned shifts.
