Curriculum and Mighty Minute Transfer from Brightwheel to Playground
Purpose
To ensure consistent and accurate transfer of curriculum and activity data (including Mighty Minutes) from Brightwheel to Playground. This SOP outlines how to locate, copy, format, translate, and record lesson activities to maintain a complete, centralized curriculum record.
Scope
This procedure applies to all team members responsible for:
Transferring curriculum content (LL activities) from Brightwheel to Playground
Adding Mighty Minute activities into Playground
Maintaining the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet
Tools and Resources
Brightwheel– source for curriculum and learning activities
Playground (Enterprise Section) – platform for entering lesson activities
Google Sheets Master Spreadsheet – tracks all completed transfers
Google Translate (or Playground’s built-in translator) – for Spanish translation

## Step 1
Locate LL (Lesson Library) Content in Brightwheel
Log in to Brightwheel.
Navigate to Learning → Libraries → Learning Activities.
Refer to the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet to identify which LL activities (e.g., LL01, LL02, LL03, etc.) need to be transferred.
Begin with Ecker’s Math (36–60 months) for older children.
Note: “Eckers” = older children (3–5 years); “Itters” = younger children (0–3 years).
## Step 2
Identify the Activity Type
Open the activity in Brightwheel.
Review the Age Range field to determine if it’s for older or younger children.
Activities labeled A, B, C → younger (Itters).
Activities without letters → older (Eckers).
## Step 3
Check for Existing Activity in Playground
Log in to Playground.
Navigate to Enterprise → Lesson Activities.
Search for the activity code (e.g., LL01).
If the activity already exists → skip it.
If not found → proceed to add it in Playground.
## Step 4
Add a New Lesson Library Activity in Playground
Click Add Activity.
Copy the title from Brightwheel (e.g., LL01 Shared Writing).
Use a short, clean title — no full descriptive sentences.
In Brief Description, type: Pre-school / Pre-K | 36–60 months
Copy the instructions from Brightwheel and paste them into Full Description.
Include step numbers as written (e.g., 1. Ask, 2. Write, 3. Help, 4. Review).
Identify Materials Needed (e.g., chart paper).
If none listed, enter “N/A.”
Under Category, choose Literacy (for LL codes).
Leave Location, Group Size, and Resources blank.
Click Save.
## Step 5
Format for the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet
After saving, open the activity in Playground.
Copy the formatted text from the small text section (not the edit box).
In the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet, locate the corresponding row (e.g., LL01).
Paste the text into the correct cell to preserve formatting.
Repeat for each LL activity (LL01, LL02, LL03, etc.).
## Step 6
Locate Mighty Minute Activities
Open the shared Google Sheet: “Mighty Minute Activities.”
Review the full list (approximately 300 activities).
Identify which activities are next to transfer into Playground.
## Step 7
Add Mighty Minute Activity to Playground
Log in to Playground → Enterprise → Lesson Activities.
Click Add Activity.
For Title, use this format: MM-## [Mighty Minute Title]
Example: MM-02 Good Night Numbers
In Brief Description, type: Pre-school / Pre-K | 36–60 months
Copy and paste the full activity instructions from the Mighty Minute spreadsheet.
Include numbered steps (e.g., 1. Ask, 2. Invite, 3. Have, 4. Repeat).
List Materials Needed, or type “N/A.”
Leave other optional fields blank.
Click Save.
## Step 8
Translate to Spanish (Optional)
Copy the English description from Playground.
Translate using Google Translate (English → Spanish).
Paste the Spanish translation directly below the English text in the description field.
Example format:
1. Ask the children to count aloud. 2. Invite them to repeat together. (Spanish) 1. Pida a los niños que cuenten en voz alta. 2. Invítelos a repetir juntos.
## Step 9
Update the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet
Open the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet.
Enter the following details for each completed activity:
Activity Code (LL## or MM##)
Title
Category
Playground Status (Added / Verified)
Paste the formatted content from Playground into the appropriate cell.
Mark the Status as Complete.
## Step 10
Perform Quality Check
Verify all required fields are filled (Title, Description, Materials, Category).
Check formatting for alignment and numbered steps.
Confirm Spanish translation is included (if applicable).
If formatting looks off, re-copy the text from Playground’s display view (not edit mode).

Always use the Enterprise Section of Playground — site-level views (Murray, Redwood, West Valley) are read-only.
Prioritize Ecker’s (older) curriculum before Itters (younger).
Copying from Playground to Sheets typically preserves formatting.
If formatting breaks, re-copy from the activity’s text display view.
Deliverable
✅ All Lesson Library (LL) and Mighty Minute (MM) activities are accurately entered, formatted, translated (if applicable), and recorded in both Playground and the Master Curriculum Spreadsheet.
