# Integrating Google Calendar into GoHighLevel (GHL)
 
### Purpose
 
Ensure Google Calendar is properly integrated with GoHighLevel (GHL) for accurate appointment scheduling, two-way syncing, and prevention of double bookings.
 
### Scope
 
This SOP applies to all team members responsible for setting up or managing calendars in GoHighLevel, including:
 
- Admins
 
- Appointment Setters
 
- Operations Managers
 
- CRM Managers
 
### Prerequisites
 
Before starting, confirm:
 
- Admin access to GoHighLevel
 
- Admin access to the Google account being connected
 
- Correct Location selected in GHL
 
- Browser pop-ups enabled
 
- Correct time zone set in GHL
 
- Google account is company-owned or role-based (not personal)
 
## ❶ Access Calendar Connections in GHL
 
Log in to GoHighLevel
 
Select the correct Location
 
Go to **Settings**
 
Click **Calendars**
 
Select **Connections**
 
## ❷ Connect Google Calendar
 
Click **Connect** next to Google
 
Sign in to the correct Google account
 
Click **Allow** to grant all permissions
 
Wait for confirmation message**Result:** Google account is now linked to GHL
 
## ❸ Create or Edit a Calendar in GHL
 
Go to **Settings → Calendars**
 
Click **Create Calendar** or edit an existing one
 
Choose:
 
- Calendar type (Personal / Round Robin / Team)
 
- Assigned user
 
Under **Connected Calendar**, select the correct Google Calendar
 
Ensure calendar name follows naming convention:
 
- Format: GHL – Department – User
 
- Example: GHL – Sales – Bobby
 
Click **Save**
 
## ❹ Verify Two-Way Sync
 
Book a test appointment using the GHL calendar link
 
Confirm appointment appears in:
 
- GoHighLevel
 
- Google Calendar
 
Create a test event directly in Google Calendar
 
Confirm the time is blocked in GHL
 
Allow up to 5–10 minutes for sync**Result:** Two-way sync is confirmed

### Usage Rules
 
- Do not connect personal Google accounts
 
- Do not connect one Google calendar to multiple GHL calendars
 
- Do not edit the same appointment in both systems at the same time
 
- Always cancel or reschedule from GHL if booking came from GHL
 
- Do not select Google “Holidays” or shared calendars
 
### Best Practices
 
- Use one Google calendar per GHL calendar
 
- Use separate calendars for Sales, Support, and Personal Time
 
- Block unavailable time directly in Google Calendar
 
- Match time zones:
 
- GHL: Settings → Company → Time Zone
 
- Google Calendar settings
 
- Create a dedicated OOO / Blackout calendar if needed
 
### Common Issues & Troubleshooting
 
### Issue: Appointments Not Syncing
 
- Reconnect Google Calendar
 
- Confirm correct calendar is selected
 
- Recheck permissions
 
### Issue: Double Bookings
 
- Confirm only one GHL calendar per Google calendar
 
- Verify round-robin logic
 
### Issue: Reminders Not Sending
