Sr. Project Manager 8-Week Training Process

Purpose

This structured program moves new SPMs from role orientation to guided leadership while maintaining clear boundaries and oversight.

Weeks 1–2: Orientation and Observation

Learn SPM responsibilities, PM/SPM boundaries, meeting standards, systems, and workflows. Observe client meetings and support execution without leading or directing.

Weeks 3–4: Guided Participation

Contribute to client discussions, review execution quality, identify workflow gaps, and practice escalation with coaching.

Weeks 5–6: Guided Ownership

Practice setting direction, prioritizing work, coaching PMs, monitoring client momentum, and making supported operational decisions.

Weeks 7–8: Readiness

Strengthen judgment, pattern recognition, risk identification, workflow discipline, and clear solution-oriented escalation.

Throughout the program, maintain role separation, consistent documentation, client-meeting discipline, early risk identification, and structured feedback. Expanded ownership follows demonstrated consistency and judgment.
