Standardize WordPress website planning, design, development, quality assurance, launch, and maintenance for client and internal sites.
Responsibilities
- Project Manager: oversee scope, schedule, and client communication.
- Designer: create accessible, brand-aligned wireframes and mockups.
- Developer: build responsive functionality and integrations.
- QA Specialist: test functionality, performance, and accessibility.
1. Plan and Gather Requirements
Clarify goals, audience, features, scope, timelines, deliverables, and client sign-off.
2. Design and Prepare Content
Create responsive wireframes and high-fidelity mockups. Gather text, images, video, SEO keywords, metadata, and alt text. Obtain approval before upload.
3. Develop in WordPress
Set up the environment, theme, and required plugins. Customize the approved design, configure forms/custom fields/integrations, and format content responsively.
4. Test and Review
Check browser compatibility, performance, SEO, WCAG 2.1 accessibility, and functionality. Share the staging site, gather feedback, make revisions, complete QA, and obtain approval.
5. Launch and Maintain
Prepare hosting, domain, SSL, and final checks. Launch and monitor the live site. Regularly update WordPress, themes, and plugins; check speed, SEO, and security monthly; and provide maintenance reports.
